UnidosUS’ Housing & Financial Empowerment component seeks a Financial Coach for the Financial Empowerment Network (FEN). The FEN model uses a network of community-based organizations as its workforce by leveraging telephonic and web-based systems to create a seamless connection for people accessing financial coaching services. This position provides and/or facilitates direct financial coaching and financial education services for low to moderate income individuals who are enrolled as FEN clients. The Financial Coach is responsible for assisting participants with the development and implementation of an action plan to help them reach their financial goals and achieve and maintain financial stability. The Financial Coach will also work with clients to help them with immediate, crisis-related assistance, such as but not limited to public benefits such as SNAP, TANF, Social Security, Medicaid, and more, and other benefits to include EITC and other tax benefits, and emergency cash assistance, in order to assist clients with the attainment of financial stability. Services will be delivered through telephonic and virtual modalities.


The mission of the UnidosUS Housing and Financial Empowerment component is to increase the wealth of Latino communities and families through community-based programs. A primary vehicle for achieving this goal is the UnidosUS’ Financial Empowerment Network. The network consists of 20 community-based organizations that provide financial empowerment strategies into existing programming to Latino communities in 11 states.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Discuss client goals, review their budget and credit to assess customers' overall financial health. Establish a coaching and action plan that includes community resources and actionable, measurable steps aimed at achieving goals.
  • Provide clients with telephonic financial coaching in English and Spanish
  • Engage with clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their financial situation and needs
  • Work with clients to set financial goals and financial sustainability plans
  • Support clients in accessing financial resources and utilizing financial products and tools
  • Maintain accurate client coaching data, including baselining and follow-up data entry, coaching notes, and client engagement
  • Conduct at least 15 coaching client meetings weekly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree or 5+ years in financial counseling or coaching.
  • Fully fluent in Spanish and English-speak, read and write.
  • Proven ability to enter data into client management system, knowledge of Salesforce a plus.
  • Professional demeanor and networking skills.
  • Excellent case management skills.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and have accuracy in daily work.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
