The Foundation is seeking a mid-level professional to support the Foundation’s research and evaluation activities related to community change, economic opportunity and human and social services system reform, including juvenile justice, child welfare and other public service systems. The person will also collaborate with other REED team members, drawing on his/her/their methodological knowledge to support and advance our work around performance management, data development and organizational learning. As a research associate, you will:

• Provide support for research studies and evaluations in the fields of human and social service system reform, family economic success and community change, including development of requests for proposals, review of proposals, project management and review of deliverables. 

• Provide evaluation, research and data technical assistance to partners and Foundation colleagues. 

• Document, coordinate and advance efforts to implement culturally responsive and equity-focused research and evaluation practices and facilitate engagement with affected populations.

• Assess the credibility, validity and accuracy of data sources and research and evaluation studies, as well as produce research summaries, literature reviews and data analyses to support data-driven, research-based policy reforms and program innovations. 

• Maintain the Research and Evaluation team’s performance measurement processes, including data collection, analysis and visualization.

Qualified candidates will have the following: 

• A master’s degree in social sciences preferred, or equivalent training and professional experience.

• Minimum of three years of professional experience related to the design and implementation of applied research and evaluation in nonprofit, governmental and/or community-based settings.  

• Broad knowledge of research and evaluation methods, including the use of culturally responsive and equity-focused practices, and the ability to assess the credibility, validity and accuracy of studies and their findings. 

• Strong analytical ability and competency with quantitative and qualitative analysis, including proficiency with Excel and data visualization.

• Administrative and organizational skills necessary to coordinate, implement and oversee multiple complex projects within REED and throughout the organization.
