We work to transform educational systems by providing professional development, curriculum support, technical assistance, tools and resources for the field.

Position Summary: Create, build, and maintain effective relationships with partners leading classroom level, school-wide and comprehensive systemic instructional change to prioritize the educational and developmental needs of English Language Learners. Independently and competently deliver the SEAL Professional Development Model within the Early Childhood and/or Elementary Education field. Create and develop new SEAL Model design and enhancements to advance our work and deepen our impact for English Language Learners. Collaborate effectively within teams, work independently, demonstrate a high degree of initiative, flexibility, and collective responsibility for goals and deliverables. Shares ownership for the success of the organization and maintains commitment to SEAL’s mission and vision.  

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

The following is an overview of the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. This position may perform other duties as required. Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.

  • Independently and competently deliver the SEAL Professional Development Model within the Early Childhood and/or Elementary Education field. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the SEAL Professional Development Model within school districts and classrooms through a variety of virtual and in-person delivery methods. 
  • Coordinate and conduct Technical Assistance at SEAL Replication sites. 
  • Create and develop new SEAL Model design and enhancements to advance our work and deepen our impact for English Language Learners. 
  • Collect feedback from stakeholders to improve SEAL Model content and delivery. 
  • Participate in Innovation initiatives, as determined, applying new research to the SEAL Professional Development Model to advance the work and deepen impact for English Language Learners.
  • Remain abreast of the latest research related to Dual Language/English Language Learners as it relates to the SEAL Model and mission.
  • Build and develop relationships with SEAL stakeholders. 
  • Plan and present SEAL aligned work and services at conferences and external events with the goal of advancing SEAL’s presence across the field and furthering SEAL’s policy agenda.
  • Collaborate effectively, working both independently within teams, demonstrating a high degree of leadership, initiative, flexibility, and collective responsibility for goals and deliverables, as well as, the overall mission and vision of the organization.
  • Create, build, and maintain effective relationships with partners leading classroom level, school-wide, and comprehensive systemic instructional change to prioritize the educational and developmental needs of Dual Language/English Language Learners.
  • Provide expert level modeling, support, observation and feedback for SEAL Program Associate(s).
  • Work independently and within a team, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, flexibility and collaboration.

Qualifications: 

  • Requires BA in Education or relevant experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of professional training and development experience in the related area as an individual contributor required
  • SEAL Program Associate training experience and understanding of Early Childhood and Education field
  • Competent with meeting the needs of Dual Language/English Language Learners
  • Experience with blended learning and virtual instruction methodology is highly desirable
  • Bilingual skills, BCLAD are highly desirable
  • Experience coaching in an educational setting is highly desirable
  • Leadership experience in an educational setting is highly desirable (Site Leadership Team, Lead Teacher, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and/or regular access to a vehicle; willingness to travel regionally.
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Google Suites, Zoom, etc.)

ADA Requirement/Working Conditions:

  • Travel, virtual office
  • Job demands may require travel, long periods of driving, standing or sitting, as well as, interactions with other staff members and external constituents.
  • Position may require occasional lifting or occasional movement up to 40 pounds and writing or drawing in lateral and upright positions
