POSITION DESCRIPTION: The primary function of this position is to design learning materials and activities for training programs and implement these programs in conjunction with WERC project teams and WERC partners/clients.
Sample duties will include: Collaborate with other WERC personnel in all components of instructional development; Research instructional activities that address training outcomes and competencies; Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content aligned with training outcomes and competencies; Develop criteria used to assess learner performance and create assessment instruments; Work with client/partner and subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training goals.
This position will also facilitate workshops using alternative and non-traditional methodologies appropriate for working with adult learners; pilot curriculum and revise/refine curriculum materials/activities as needed; and monitor participant learning by collecting, analyzing, and responding to participant evaluations. The position may be full-time, part-time or hourly depending on the interest and skills of the candidate. Employment at 80 – 100% time comes with a comprehensive benefits package. QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS WILL HAVE:
A minimum of four years of experience in teaching, workforce development training, or designing and facilitating educational programs; working knowledge of practices and techniques used in adult and worker education; experience with adult learners from diverse backgrounds; proficient using design software such as InDesign or Publisher; ability to work as a team member in a joint labor/management setting; ability to travel to sites within Los Angeles County to conduct training, and work within broadly flexible hours which may include weekends and evenings; excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to quickly adapt to changed circumstances.

Minimum Education Required
