FutureSense Foundation (FSF) is an international development charity that supports community development in 7 overseas countries. We collaborate and partner with over 100 local governmental and non-governmental organisations on long-term programmes that target education, health and income generation. Our programmes are supported by our overseas teams and international volunteers who work alongside our local partners to assist in improving the lives of the communities.

Our volunteer programmes include a gap year programme (GapGuru), a programme for highly skilled volunteers and those on a career break (Inspire) and programmes for groups (Challenges Abroad).


We are now looking for a strong candidate to fulfill the role of Country Operations Manager in Nepal (Dhulikhel and Kathmandu area - based in Dhulikhel). As the supervisor of all hub activities and programmes, we require excellent management experience, customer service and communication skills to develop and manage our range of programmes, and previous volunteering experience with knowledge and understanding of the development sector. Experience in delivering community development and/or environmental protection projects of a similar nature and scale and previous experience either with FutureSense or a similar organisation in a management role is desirable.





  • Organize the implementation of project and programme plans
  • Coordinate with UK office about volunteer and group projects and dates
  • Create and manage monthly operations budget and all volunteer and group expenditure budgets
  • Effectively manage and support your diverse in-country team
  • Enable volunteers, partners, and in-country team to contribute to high quality and effective programme completion through the delivery of planned and organised training
  • Facilitate all pre-departure sessions with volunteers and groups
  • Work closely with UK management and the local team to provide volunteers with a valuable experience
  • To ensure the safety and security of staff and volunteers
  • To represent the best interests of FutureSense Group and the programmes we run

Programme Management:

·     Define and strengthen our programmes, their scope, the impact, and sustainability

·     Ensure our programmes are in line with the UN development goals for sustainability

·     Establish, monitor, and evaluate our Key Performance Indicators

·     Identify areas of growth through research, needs assessments, and partner evaluations

·     Develop effective working relationships with local communities and partners to ensure community needs are being met and our programme outputs are effective

·     Promote the creation of new programmes and projects consistent with the ethos of the organisation.

·     Provide support to volunteers, helping them settle into the country and achieve their programme objectives and make the most of their time in-country

·     To aid in the development and long-term planning of local programmes and how to measure impact and success


Minimum required qualifications

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Master’s degree (Highly preferred but not required)
  • Experience living and working abroad and/or with people from different cultures (minimum of 3 years)
  • Able to manage multiple projects, strong organisational skills, and strong time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a flexible environment and prepared to go above and beyond and work long hours
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Skilled in developing professional relationships
  • Budgeting and financial management experience
  • Strong people management skills and experience of managing groups, staff and volunteers
  • Strong project planning skills and a proven track record of project delivery
  • A good understanding and experience of international community development, education and skill development issues
  • Able to enthuse others on key issues and contribute to strategic planning
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality training and experiential learning in an effective and safe way for youth and adult audiences using a variety of media and styles to maximise learning and outcomes
  • Ability to motivate and support staff to achieve success consistently
  • The ability to deal with conflict and overcome challenges


Remuneration package includes local living stipend, international flights, visa, plus holiday leave
