Description of position: The Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and facilitating the chapter’s education and community programs. Spanish language fluency is highly valued for this position.


Duties & responsibilities:

Community Liaison

·       Take lead role in the recruitment, screening, selection, placement, and evaluation of volunteers to serve on program committees

·       Create and manage lead volunteer committees responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing program development

·       Maintain strong caring professional relationships with constituents of NYCHC

·       Facilitate meaningful relationships with local hemophilia treatment center providers (doctors, social workers, physical therapist, nurses, etc.)


Program Development

·       Participate in long- and short-term program development and planning

·       Conduct annual needs assessment on behalf of NYCHC to identify consumer needs, gaps in services, and opportunities for program growth and enhancements

·       Evaluate and maintain relationships with third party program partners


Program Management

·       Organize, manage and coordinate all programs and events from start to finish (including but not limited to organizing, planning, promotion, registration, implementation, and evaluation)

·       Plan, implement, and evaluate NYCHC educational events, including Education Day, VWD Retreat, Teen Events, Inhibitor Summits, Latino Outreach events, and additional events as assigned

·       Maintain updated program information for all online platforms

·       Monitor program activities to ensure quality and accuracy of NYCHC goals and mission

·       Develop and distribute program and educational materials

·       Manage, maintain, and develop relationships with program contractors and vendors

·       Maintain strong working relationships with community agencies and organizations

·       Develop written tools for programmatic use including survey and evaluation instruments

·       Maintain strong caring professional relationships with constituents of NYCHC

·       Other program tasks as directed


Budgeting and Reporting

·       Prepare program budgets for ED approval

·       Manage and track revenues and expenditures relative to programs and activities

·       Prepare bi-annual impact reports to highlight program effectiveness


Content Coordinator

·       Coordinate volunteer committee for editorial content creation

·       Create quarterly educational print newsletter

·       Create and distribute monthly e-newsletter


Data Reporting and Maintenance

·       Maintain updated constituent lists for specific target groups

·       Create a contact capture protocol to ensure all new community members are added to the proper lists

·       Oversee the collection, confidentiality and maintenance of program records for statistical purposes


Qualifications

·       A four-year degree in related field or equivalent experience

·       Minimum of two years professional experience in program development and management

·       Ability to organize, project manage, and prioritize workload

·       Strong writing and organizational skills

·       Facilitation skills

·       High level of computer proficiency

·       Ability to analyze and think critically

·       Commitment to teamwork and attention to detail

·       Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, if necessary

·       Experience in a nonprofit environment

·       Personal integrity and discretion

·       Donor database knowledge and experience

·       Fluent in Spanish


Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director
