Title:                  Sr. Manager of Logistics & Transportation

Location:        Bronx Warehouse

        

The Sr. Manager of Logistics & Transportation is responsible for overseeing, planning and supervising Food Distribution full order cycle from inventory receipt to order receipt to scheduling daily and weekly routes using TMS software ensuring on-time dispatch. To succeed in this role, you should have thorough knowledge of supply chain management and an understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles. You should also be familiar with safety processes and DOT regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

·        Supervise the logistics team ensuring excellent customer service to our member agencies and FBNYC partners, and internal stakeholders.

·        Strategically plan order demand and manage logistics, transportation and customer services

·        Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle in the order management system and ERP (SCA & NetSuite by Oracle) from order taking through delivery

·        Schedule daily and weekly routes leveraging the full functionality of TMS software

·        Track orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software)

·        Coordinate with Warehouse Workers to ensure proper storage and distribution of inventory

·        Monitor KPI’s and report on transportation effectiveness, including fleet efficiency and on-time delivery.

·        Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements

·        Ensure receipt and shipping documents are properly filed

·        Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment

·        Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods

·        Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders

·        Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation

·        Stay up-to-date with safety regulations

Requirements

·        Minimum of 7 years - proven work experience as a Logistics Manager, Transportation Manager, Shipping Manager, or similar role

·        Solid knowledge of supply chain management

·        Experience preparing and tracking orders using TMS software, like TWM or Roadnet

·        Excellent organizational skills

·        Customer, people and results centric; Works logically and systematically to solve problems, make decisions and think laterally and flexibly with the ability to manage sustainable change.

·        IT literate and able to leverage software and hardware platforms to advantage

·        Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

·        Maintains a positive attitude to continued learning and growth.

·        Ability to coach, develop, supervise, and train staff

·        Problem-solving abilities

·        BSc in Supply Chain, Logistics, business, or relevant field
