    We are seeking a Family Engagement Specialist to help us strengthen relationships between families, schools, and community partners. The ideal candidate will bring compassion, leadership, and excellent communication skills to connect families with resources, increase parental involvement, and promote youth success. This is a grant-funded, part-time position for 8 weeks, with the potential for extension.

    Position Summary:

    Choices4Teens is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Engagement Specialist to join our team immediately. This is a part-time, grant-funded position aimed at strengthening the partnership between our organization and the families of the youth we serve.

    The Family Engagement Specialist is responsible for building strong relationships with families to support the holistic development of youth participants. This role focuses on fostering family involvement, providing resources, and ensuring effective communication between families and program staff to enhance youth success.

    Key Responsibilities

    Family Outreach & Engagement

      • Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with families of program participants.
      • Conduct outreach to engage parents/guardians and encourage their involvement in youth programming.

    Support & Advocacy

      • Connect families with appropriate community resources and services, and track referral outcomes.
      • Advocate for families by identifying needs and helping to reduce barriers to youth success.

    Communication & Relationship Building

      • Act as a liaison between families, staff, community organizations, schools (including Brockton Public Schools and C-Plan), and partners such as Mass Mentoring Partnership and local colleges.
      • Promote effective communication and collaboration among mentors, program staff, and caregivers.

    Training & Capacity Building

      • Organize family events, workshops, and informational sessions.
      • Connect families with community resources and services, and track referral outcomes.
      • Organize family workshops, events, and informational sessions that support youth development and strengthen family engagement.

    Program Evaluation & Reporting

      • Monitor and follow up on family engagement efforts to ensure access, transparency, and inclusivity.
      • Maintain a reliable and up-to-date database of mentees and caregivers.

    Database & Resource Management

      • Monitor and follow up on family engagement efforts to ensure transparency, access, and inclusion.

    Community Engagement & Events

      • Represent the organization at community events and foster strategic partnerships to benefit families and youth.

    Team Collaboration.

      • Support a positive, collaborative team culture.
      • Center youth voice in decision-making and advocate for equitable, inclusive practices across programming.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Entry level. Experience working with youth and families, preferably in a mentoring or community engagement setting, is a plus.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide services in a respectful and professional manner, using active listening and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and support families, staff, and community partners.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting in front of groups, interacting with diverse audiences, and writing compelling narratives and reports.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong knowledge of Google Suite (a must), with proficiency in Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and other related tools.
    • Commitment to understanding how systemic inequality affects children’s safety and well-being and a passion for advocating for equity and inclusion.
    • Must speak English fluently; additional language skills in Spanish, Portuguese, or Cape Verdean Creole are a plus.
    • Must pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check.
    • Must have a reliable transportation
