Description

The Fair Housing Justice Center (FHJC) seeks a highly motivated, self-directed, and well-organized individual for a full-time Intake Analyst position. Responsible for obtaining factual, accurate, and complete information from persons who file housing discrimination complaints; counseling complainants on fair housing rights and referral options; and providing testimony in depositions, trials and other legal proceedings when needed. Familiarity with fair housing laws, the New York metropolitan area, housing market practices, and affordable housing programs a plus. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail oriented, well-organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, good oral and written communication skills, be computer literate, and be a proficient user of Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience in conducting fair housing intake a plus, but previous experience in providing one-to-one counseling, civil rights advocacy, and/or paralegal assistance also helpful. BA/BS preferred or commensurate experience. Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred. Salary based on experience.
