Overview of Teach Plus

About the Role 

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Associate will be responsible for supporting all day-to-day accounting and finance activities while working cross-functionally and collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations. Joining a growing team, the Finance Associate will support financial projects and systems to support our growing revenue of over $8 million. The Finance Associate will also collaborate closely with the Talent team on payroll and benefits administration.

Responsibilities  

Accounting and Finance Support

  • Perform all day-to-day aspects of accounts payable/receivable; including, entering invoices and processing payments, recording related transactions, and assisting with monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Support expense reimbursement processing; including, reconciliation of credit card statements, reviewing expense reports for accuracy and proper documentation, and coding of expenses for import into Intacct.
  • Assist preparation for month-end, year-end closes, annual audit, and required government filings.
  • Assist with the preparation of operating budgets, financial statements, and reports.
  • In collaboration with the Finance team, participate in continuous improvement to financial systems and processes, including implementation of new financial software applications and upgrades. 
  • Provide general and ad-hoc financial administrative support, including; but not limited to, collaborating with program teams to process teacher stipends, vendor relationship management, reconcile any accounting discrepancies, and maintenance and organization of finance files. 

Payroll and Benefits Administration  

  • In collaboration with the Managing Director of Talent, perform data entry in ADP including processing new hires, terminations, pay, and benefit changes in ADP, process changes in benefit provider portals, audit, and reconciliation of benefit invoices.
  • Assist in the processing of semi-monthly payroll and perform cost allocation to different programs at the end of each payroll cycle.
  • Coordinate with ADP in setting up of new states and tax centers to ensure tax filing and reporting compliance. 


Who You Are

  • Have at least two years of accounting/finance experience, nonprofit experience a plus 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel  
  • Skilled at independently managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with high attention to detail 
  • Solutions-oriented with the ability to follow through from the identification of a challenge to its solution 
  • An effective collaborator who can easily build cross-functional relationships through effective and timely communication

Location  

This is a remote position. Candidates located in states where we have programming and/or candidates located in the CST/EST time zone will be prioritized.
