Bridge’s Youth Housing Pathways Programs comprise the city of Boston’s only rapid Rehousing (RRH) programs specifically serving homeless youth and young adults, 18-24 years old. The Bridge rapid rehousing programs include the YHPP, YHPP-Plus, and Transitional Housing-Rapid Rehousing Program. They are scattered site housing programs, based on a housing first model, which provide short-term rental assistance and support homeless youth in gaining stability and permanent housing within the private rental market, while working to ensure long-term stability for each participant. Together, they are expected to serve 146 unaccompanied, homeless youth at any given time.

The RRH Program Director will assume the responsibility for directing, implementing, and monitoring all aspects rapid rehousing at Bridge, and will be accountable for ensuring adherence to city of Boston and Federal regulations and fidelity to the program goal of enabling participating youth to attain permanent housing and economic stability. The Director will provide staff supervision, monitor program operations, ensure accurate and consistent data collection and analysis for reporting and documentation, promoting operational excellence, driving high-level staff performance, and developing relationships and resources to support effective service provision. Principle duties will be performed at Bridge headquarters, and as needed, in the community where program residents reside.


This list is not exhaustive and is meant to provide general guidance and a basic overview of responsibilities of the position. ·        Ensure that all YHPP activities operate consistently and effectively within the mission and values of the program and Bridge standards.

·        Ensure that all RRH program guidelines, policies, and procedures are followed by staff and conducted responsibly and effectively, by monitoring all aspects of programming, from assessment, intake, and documentation to housing search, stabilization, and exit to permanent housing.

·        Review program policies and procedures at least annually and participate in making recommended changes.

·        Maintain relationships and collaborate closely with external housing providers such as Boston Housing Authority, Metro Housing Boston, and others, and ensure staff familiarity with these providers.

·        Monitor all RRH administrative requirements, including data collection and updates, case manager schedules and reporting, participant case notes, housing plans, etc., to ensure timely and accurate compliance.

·        Supervise RRH Manager(s) to respond to staff needs and solve problems and to monitor progress in developing goals, and review client housing, financial, and self-sufficiency plans.

·        Foster and facilitate inter-departmental communication and collaboration throughout Bridge, to ensure comprehensive and efficient service coordination among agency departments as needed.

·        Ensure completeness and accuracy of all program statistics and records, including accurate entry of data into both Bridge ETO system and Boston HMIS.

·        Manage and monitor financial and case management capacity to ensure full program implementation.

·        Manage and monitor activities with YHPP collaborative partner (JRI Health/Housing, Boston Public Health Commission) to ensure adherence to program standards and expectations.

·        Maintain and monitor effective communication channels between RRH partners, including city of Boston Continuum of Care and Department of Neighborhood Development, landlords, tenants, collaborating agencies, and other parties involved in rapid rehousing services in the region.

Public Relations

·        Serve as liaison/advocate between the program and the community including surrounding neighbors to build partnerships

·        Must gain and maintain knowledge and understanding of Bridge’s Mission, program continuum, policies, practices, and values and have the ability to communicate effectively on these topics in multiple capacities.


·        Ensure that all activities, services and programs through Bridge are conducted in a manner that is sensitive to and shows respect for the cultural and ethnic diversity of all Bridge clients and other individuals


·        Participate in scheduled program staff meetings

·        Participate in quarterly all staff meeting

·        Attend meetings outside of agency as necessary

·        Other related tasks as required/requested


·        Minimum of 10 years’ experience in program management and staff supervision

·        Minimum Education Requirements: MSW, MBA, or related advanced degree

·        Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local housing benefit systems, eligibility requirements, application processes, tenants’ rights and responsibilities, and “housing first” philosophy and strategies

·        Demonstrated knowledge of housing systems and regulations, housing agencies, and subsidy management.

·        Demonstrated ability to initiate problem-solving solutions for a range of administrative, management, and programmatic challenges.

·        Record-keeping, data management, and budgeting skills; ability to produce accurate reports

·        Demonstrated knowledge of community resources

·        High level of personal organization, attention to detail, and time management skills

·        Driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel independently to various sites as needed.
