Job Purpose:

Under the supervision of the East Bay Programs Director, the Clinical Director is responsible for the overall leadership and development of effective, relevant clinical practice for BACR’s East Bay School-based Mental Health Services Program. This leadership includes ensuring the implementation of best practices informed by the communities that we serve, including culturally appropriate and anti-racist therapy/case management models and practices; and fostering staff development and positive staff culture/climate for a large mental health team whose work spans the developmental range of K – 12 grade and geographical expanse of West Contra Costa County, East Contra Costa county and Berkeley. As part of the leadership team, the Clinical Director will work to create and coordinate dynamic, effective and consistent therapeutic services across our programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Provide leadership and vision to the development of effective, culturally relevant and trauma-informed service models and practices for School-based Mental Health Program

 Understand and integrate innovative and cutting-edge best and emerging practices in the field in our programming. Aid in designing new programs and support fundraising efforts.

 Foster staff development and lead efforts to ensure positive staff culture and climate; assess staff retention and develop structures to support development of staff to increase tenure and staff satisfaction, incorporating an antiracist approach to hiring and retention

 Responsible for developing and coordinating staff training calendar, including trainings for new clinicians (e.g. Assessment and Diagnosis)

 Ensure effective and responsive on-boarding process for new staff

 Develop crisis response process and support staff in developing skills and resources to respond to school-site crises

 Provide support to individual and group clinical supervisors, especially adjunct and direct service staff supervisors

 Direct and lead the school-based mental health program for PUSD, serving students and their in the Counseling Enriched Classrooms (CEC)

 Provide individual clinical supervision. Ensure that therapeutic activities include but are not limited to individual and family therapeutic activities that are congruent with the client’s individual treatment plan

 Develop and maintain partnership with key institutional partners such as: West Contra Costa Unified Children’s Services Collaborative, Contra Costa County Behavioral Health Services, Pittsburg Unified School District and the ERMHS program in Berkeley and other relevant partners

 Develop linkages and working agreements with community programs that support our client needs.

 Monitor staff’s Medi-Cal and Salesforce clinical paperwork

 Perform other administrative duties relevant to the position (e.g. the completion of Supervision Sign-in Sheets)

 Adherence to all regulatory guidelines, mandated reporting requirements, legal and ethical standards, and program/agency protocols

 Adherence to all procedures and protocols related to EPSDT/Medi-Cal

 Performance of other duties as directed by East Bay Programs Director     

Qualifications:

 Licensed Psychologist, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist

 Experience in a leadership/administrative role providing supervision and guidance to mental health programs

 Demonstrated experience and leadership in providing trauma-informed, culturally humble and restorative mental health services

 Knowledge and experience providing MediCal/EPSDT-funded mental health services to children and families

 Demonstrated experience in Medi-Cal billing practices and paperwork review

 Experience and alignment with a culture of collaborative leadership

 Ability to balance reflective and directive leadership styles

 Experienced with in-home and community-based modalities

 Experience in school-based work in under-severed communities

 Knowledge of Excel and ability to oversee many aspects of budget utilization

 Expert understanding of family centered, capacity-building, strength-based mental health treatment

 Understanding of DSM-5

 Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Salary: $85,000
