The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a congressionally funded, private, nonprofit grant making organization that works to support freedom around the world, and is seeking an Assistant Digital Producer. The position is based in Washington, D.C.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Digital Producer supports the Digital Producer and works closely with the Public Affairs team in the production of NED’s digital content.


Responsible for assisting in the production of NED’s digital content and supporting NED’s digital content strategy. Includes production of primarily video, as well as photo, podcasts/audio, photo shoots, and graphics. Responsible for regularly editing videos into short-form packages for web distribution, plus the management of live streaming of events. 

  • Produce a variety of short videos including events, trailers, interviews and features.
  • Report success of videos with metrics included in monthly report.
  • Assist with site updates/social media promotion.
  • Assist with organization and maintenance of digital asset manager.



·        Knowledge/Experience:

­   Bachelor’s Degree (in Communications a plus); Minimum of 1 year of experience.

­   Demonstrated web and multimedia skills, including experience with Adobe Premiere (Final Cut experience a plus, but Adobe necessary) and compressing video for the web;

­   Shooting experience in both long and short videos desired;

­   Experience with animation and motion graphics desired;

­   Experience with WordPress preferred.

·        Other Qualifications:

­   Sample reel of video work is required;

­   Strong background in short-form video editing for web and social media highly desired.

­   Strong familiarity with web-based technologies, including social networking tools,, stock video websites, Youtube and Vimeo;

­   Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

­   Able to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness;

­   Interest in international affairs highly desirable;

­   Highly professional demeanor, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills to interact effectively with all levels of staff
