Description

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Campaign Director will lead a comprehensive multi-year campaign supporting Winnakee Land Trust's stewardship and land protection growth and long-term sustainability.

In the last five years, Winnakee has over doubled our conservation growth and is continuing to expand our land protection and stewardship capabilities. These achievements, combined with a recent strategic planning process and rebranding, have shaped the near-term future and priorities of the organization.  The newly created Campaign Director role will be dedicated to overseeing all aspects of the second half of a multi-year comprehensive campaign and directing additional micro-campaigns and major gifts thereafter.

The position will identify opportunities for major gifts within our existing annual and planned giving donors (in collaboration with the Director of Development) and build new philanthropic pathways through cultivation and donor relations for new campaign gifts.

Winnakee is seeking an exceptional team player who is skillful in building and managing relationships with a wide range of individuals including donors, prospects, vendors, partners and colleagues. The new team member will be charismatic, creative, outgoing, collaborative, organized, goal-oriented, and flexible. Interest in land conservation and environmental issues is important.  The successful candidate will be skilled at conveying a full understanding of Winnakee’s mission, strategic initiatives, projects, programs, and long-term goals with a history of growing diverse revenue sources and enhancing the philanthropic impact of non-profit organizations.

The position is hybrid, and the incumbent will have the ability to work remotely with at least three days a week in our Rhinebeck office.  Limited travel for donor meetings as the situation merits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage all aspects of the second half of Winnakee’s comprehensive campaign (currently in silent phase with approximately half pledged/raised). Develop, strategize, and implement a written cultivation and solicitation plan for the campaign based on revenue targets.
