Function/Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the CEO the role of the Associate Director of Prevention provides overall direction, management, and development for prevention programming. The Associate Director of Prevention is expected to be writing proposal, submitting budget forms, and other requirements for federal and foundation funding grants. They will be responsible for the upkeep of prevention grants at the organization and will be held accountable that all required documentation is submitted.
Required Qualifications:
· Familiarity with HIV/AIDS services and community resources in New York City
· Good oral and written bi-lingual communication skills
· Comfort with the diversity (ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, etc.) of our multicultural community
· Ability to help the CEO with any funding opportunities at short notice
·Possess essential knowledge of a grant application process
·Develop effective grant proposals and grant reports based on the organizational requirement
· Ability to balance financial information and grant agreements and keep the agency updated
·Interfacing and communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization
·Aid in evaluation of programs
· Analyze data for local, foundation, and government grants
·Develop, construct, and amend budgets for existing contracts as well as RFP’s
·Develop tracking sheets for contract expenditures
·Assist with administrative/ clerical duties; such as but not limited to filing, electronic filing, email and/or phone correspondence
·Generate reports and vouchers for contract reimbursement
· Familiarity with creating scopes of work, workplans, and budget
·Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
·Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an associated field with 5-years experience or a Master’s Degree in an associated field.
·Prior experience in data collection, tracking and report writing
·Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience
·Experienced in handling highly confidential matters with discretion
·Ability to understand project requirements, the organization, departments and its functions
·Self-driven, pro-active, ability to work effectively and independently
· Responsible, organized and provides attention to detail
·Strong administrative and coordination skills.
Salary is commensurate with knowledge and experience.
