About Mindbridge

To change hearts and minds, we must first learn how to access them.

Mindbridge is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the impact of local, national, and international human rights efforts. Research indicates that up to 95% of our behaviors are unconscious and that connecting psychological and neurobiological knowledge is essential to creating long-lasting and effective change. By “bridging” human rights work with psychological and neurobiological applied science, Mindbridge programming works to effectively access and engage hearts and minds before inviting them to change. For more information visit us at: www.mindbridgecenter.org.

Position Overview

The Communications Coordinator will execute a range of online marketing, public-engagement, and fundraising activities for Mindbridge. We're looking for someone that can help develop our narrative and bring the work we do into a public-facing environment and to potential funders. The position will be largely concerned with marketing and fundraising. The Communications Coordinator is also someone with experience planning, creating, and publishing social media. All subject matter will be designed from a human-rights focus and interns will use Mindbridge’s Messaging Guide as a way of crafting and centering social media content from a human rights perspective.

The Communications Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director of Mindbridge, and will at times work closely with the Mindbridge Administrative Manager.

Compensation: $25/Hourly

Essential Functions

  • The Communications Coordinator will work with the Executive Director to develop and implement communications strategies for Mindbridge. This includes creating and distributing social media content such as blogs, infographics, newsletters, videos, and press releases
  • Identify and apply for fundraising opportunities on behalf of Mindbridge, which will include prospecting research, assisting other Mindbridge staff in their grant writing process, and completing award applications
  • Coordinate donor and fundraising stewardship and cultivation: including but not limited to timelines, databases, correspondences, and prospects
  • Manage the execution of live and online events: coordinating with team members, employing resources, working within deadlines, and collecting photos, videos, and other media from events for later use

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be a skilled communicator (both written and oral) and should possess excellent writing and proof-reading skills. Bilingual is a plus
  • Prior experience with social media platforms and design software and/or online platforms (such as Canva) is required
  • Experience with Google Suite required
  • Must be self-motivated, extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize. Most work will be conducted virtually, which means that our Communications Coordinator will need to be able to self-direct their work
  • Experience with project management and group coordination is preferred: this position will see you working across different Mindbridge departments to bring ideas together
  • Mindbridge will train our Communications Coordinator on human rights and neuropsych considerations
