The League of Women Voters of Dane County (LWVDC) is a local, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose purpose is to promote informed and active participation of citizens in government at all levels. The League grew out of the suffrage movement. The organization is active in educating the public about the importance of voting and in getting people registered to vote. In addition, LWVDC organizes educational programs open to the general public, researches policy issues, and advocates for good government policies. Currently this work is done by member-volunteers and an elected board of directors with the assistance of a part-time office administrator. The membership has grown significantly in the past 5 years and is currently over 600.

We are seeking an Executive Director to oversee and coordinate the organization’s priorities, activities and programs as defined by our members. This is a new position, building on the 100-year history of grass-roots member activity. The successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with the board and committees to improve League operations. This position reports to the president of the board of directors.

Salary $65,000-$80,000, dependent on experience.
