The RESPOND, Inc Housing Case Manager will work with survivors of Domestic Violence to find housing, transitional programs, safe living alternatives and/or maintain safe housing.
RESPOND, Inc seeks an outgoing person who will build relationships with survivors, housing programs and landlords to help re-house our clients.The Housing Case Manager protects and affirms the rights of individuals while helping them achieve independence by finding longer term safe housing and being responsive to their needs.
About the Opportunity: Reporting to the Residential Services Coordinator, the Housing Case Manager:
-Works with shelter clients and community clients, thinking outside the box, for creative safe housing options
-Accompany clients by driving to view units, interviews at programs, appeal decisions and other accompaniments
-Works with each individual or family to get into housing and to support them when they have moved to maintain the housing opportunity as the survivor negotiates their way toward increased independence and self reliance
-Work collaboratively with Certified Domestic Violence Counselors and be a positive part of the team
-Works closely with community agencies and housing authorities. Cultivating and maintaining positive working relationships in the field
-Coordinates and facilitates regular housing groups
-Answers RESPOND's 24-hour hotline and provides emotional support, referrals and resources.
-Actively participates in weekly supervision and staff meeting

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be highly motivated, forward thinking, energetic, and hard-working.
-BA or equivalent required
-Must have or be willing to obtain the 25 hour Domestic Violence Counselor Certification.
-at least 2 years work experience in housing or related employment required
-Strong in building relationships with housing and other agencies
-Strong English language communication, writing and reading skills are required
-Fluency in a second language strongly desired
-Basic computer knowledge a necessity
-Consistent access to personal vehicle required
The hours for this position are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9-5 Wednesday 11-7
-Flexibility required due to program need
Pay range between $17-$24 per hour depending upon education and experience
