Background

 

Oxfam GB is recruiting for a Web and Applications Technical Design Authority.

 

This exciting role works closely with Oxfam’s internal teams and external agencies to deliver technical oversight and governance for Oxfam’s online presence and mobile applications. It ensures Oxfam’s solutions are fit for purpose, cost effective and aligned to Oxfam’s IT strategy.

 

The role

 

The Web and Applications Technical Design Authority will be responsible for the following, with significant impact across Oxfam within the discipline:

 

·        Engage and communicate clearly and concisely with Oxfam’s Chief Technology Officer and senior management teams and representing Oxfam’s agreed architecture standards across all IS deliveries.

·        Delivering governance, design and strategic steering with regards to Oxfam GB’s web and mobile applications, SaaS platform development, Integration technologies and with regards to both internal systems and those which are externally delivered by partners.

·        Developing strategic and tactical solutions for complex operational/technical problems to meet business requirements and providing business critical expertise.

·        Implementing agreed IS strategies and policies that may include managing relationships with external organisations and embracing innovation where possible to evolve the organisation.

·        Research new technologies and approaches for specific business needs and projects.

·        Owning the IT design aspects in relation to architecture and software. This can be in the form of both high and low-level designs; especially when working as a solutions architect.

 

What we’re looking for

 

·        The ideal candidate will be dynamic and innovative with strong interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills. They will also have a strong background in web technologies and development.

·        A specialist in Web and application technologies, with expertise in the following areas:Net framework & core (C#)

• Azure Public Cloud (IaaS, PaaS)

• Service Oriented Architecture

• Security frameworks

• Sitecore CMS

• Node JS

• JitterBit, nService Bus

• SharePoint online

• Force.com

• MS SQL Server

·        Experience in developing web applications and in solution architecture.

·        An understanding of cloud computing concepts.

·        An ability to demonstrate experience in this area with a broad understanding of information architecture within an enterprise organisation

·        An excellent understanding of Business processes – able to articulate functional and non-functional requirements to deliver an agreed Design.
