About the Job

The Development Analyst & Coordinator will act as the engine for UAP’s Development Team. She/He/They will drive excellence in database management, ensuring that UAP’s technology informs best practices in fundraising. This person will be responsible for accurate record-keeping as well as data analytics, communicating out to development professionals on the status of donors and relationships as well as the story our data is telling about our use of time, progress toward goals, donor retention success, and areas for improvement. This individual will also lend administrative and research support to the Director of Philanthropy (“DoP”) in identifying prospects, securing contact information, scheduling meetings/calls and large-scale communications. This individual will not only manage our databases but will oversee technology integrations to ensure timely and accurate communications to the proper audiences. The UAP development teams will rely on this person to keep the trains running on time. The individual reports to the DoP and works closely with the Institutional Giving and Finance teams.





Key Responsibilities:


Data and Technology Management

  • Lead a data audit of the organization’s development record-keeping
  • Re-envision the development team’s rules of operation with record-keeping 
  • Codify and implement new standards of data management 
  • Set up queries within UAP’s CRM for goal-based, data-driven storytelling
  • Manage dashboards and reports for key members of the leadership team 
  • Oversee timely and accurate data entry on donor and vendor records
  • Maintain donation portals, campaign sites, communication tools and email lists
  • Consult on and manage the integration of new technologies into existing ones

Project Management

  • Identify efficient project management methods for development team calendars
  • Consult development team on upcoming, due and overdue action items


Donor/Prospect Management

  • Drive progress in donor segmentation, nomenclature and interrelationships
  • Conduct donor and prospect research/basic outreach as assigned 
  • Timely administration of donor acknowledgment letters
  • Oversight of pre and post-event follow up, acknowledgements, communications, etc. 


Finance / Other

  • Liaise with Operations/Finance team on contracts and subscriptions
  • Support grant writing efforts and org-wide fundraising culture as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor


Key Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • Must be detail-obsessed, organized and exhibit excellent time management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Mastery in Excel, Mailchimp and Salesforce, as well as an understanding of how software systems communicate with one another
  • Mastery of data analytics as it relates to fundraising
  • Must be willing to work with in an open office cooperative staff environment

At least 3 years of data management and administrative experience preferred
