Part-Time Human Resources and Office Manager

United Planet, an international 501(c)(3) organization located in Boston, Massachusetts, with programs in over 30 countries worldwide, is seeking a new Part-Time (12-18 hours per week) Human Resources and Office Manager to energize its efforts to unite the world, one relationship at a time. Join an inspired, entrepreneurial, energetic Team!

Roles and Responsibilities

·      Recruiting - sourcing (searching for candidates); screening; interviewing; reference checks; advising and hiring

·      Orientation, including contracts; I-9; W-4; handbook; providing information about company and procedures

·      Legal compliance and legal issues

·      Monitor evaluation process; assess performance

·      Address disciplinary Issues

·      Employee Recognition

·      Maintain Employee records

·      Oversee Information Technology system and volunteers

·      Office management - supplies; phones; printers; insurance; equipment; government filings; office events, maintaining desirable workplace

·      Administer health; dental; retirement benefits; workers’ compensation; unemployment benefits; mini-COBRA, sick time, vacation time, voluntary and involuntary termination, insurance

·      Arrange Team events and learning

·      Payroll - prepare information for payroll company

·      Support implementation and processing of J-1 International Internship visas

·      Potential for strategic leadership role in organization

·      Assist employees with workplace issues

Preferred Education and Experience

·      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

·      One year of human resources or office management experience

·      Related experience working with international organization

·      International travel experience
