American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a membership organization dedicated to the advancement of women's health care in Washington, DC, is currently seeking a Social Media Manager to drive an integrated customer-centric strategy and messaging across all ACOG's social media channels. The manager oversees the daily management and production of posts and paid on social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. This person will work collaboratively with internal partners to build a strong, engaged online community that supports ACOG's business goals. The primary goal of this position is to support ACOG in increasing awareness of key messages, driving traffic to our products and resources, and foster engagements with key audiences such as ACOG members and organization stakeholders.

The manager will be expected to utilize data and up-to-the-minute knowledge of the social media environments to analyze and optimize ACOG's social presence and brand authority across channels and be able to conduct regular competitor analyses to support, modify, and affirm the social strategy.

    • Leads the daily creation and publishing of relevant, high-quality content
    • Collaborates with appropriate internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute social media content, leveraging social media as integral component of overall communications strategy
    • Work closely with creative team to shoot and create original graphics, videos, illustrations, and other visuals to live on all social media channels
    • Fosters engagement in our online community by responding to followers and connecting with key women's health care influencers
    • Engages in social listening and analytics to track outcomes and recommend adjustments and new techniques, including boosting posts to amplify engagements
    • Reports on new trends, features, and data on social platforms. Assesses the effectiveness of social media strategies, tactics and campaigns and recommends modifications to achieve goals
    • Leads weekly social media meetings
    • Leads and creates guidelines and standards for social media content on any social channel
    • Trains designated staff and entities in the use of and best practices for social media platforms and similar technologies relating to digital engagement, digital relationship building, social communities and social networking
    • Provides social media trainings to members
    • Performs special projects and serves on teams and committees as assigned

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or similar discipline required
    • Minimum of five years of social media marketing experience
    • Demonstrated knowledge and passion for women's health care and physician audiences.
    • Requires articulate, creative self-starter; detailed-oriented with sensitivity to organizational protocols.
    • Able to perform well under deadline stress, with strong drive to achieve results.
    • Proven, hands-on experience with Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar tools preferred
    • Have strong written communication skills, an ability to be apolitical in the face of political conversation, and a deep belief in the power of social to connect our community
    • Experience creating and managing paid campaigns on social platforms.
    • Knowledge of and experience with social media best practices—such as deployment, testing, deliverability, design, analytics/performance management.
    • Excellent project management, time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects with moving targets.
