The Center for Court Innovation is a non-profit organization that works to create a more effective and humane justice system by performing original research and helping launch reforms around the world. The Center creates operating projects that have been documented to reduce the use of jail and prison, assist victims of crime, and strengthen communities. Nationally and internationally, the Center performs original research and provides consulting services to justice innovators.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Business Administration the Office Manager will perform administrative and facilities duties to support operations for all programs at the central office and operating sites. This role requires a highly motivated and organized professional who works well with others, can multi-task effectively, and demonstrates independent problem-solving skills. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the purchasing of supplies, goods and services at the Center’s main office;
  • Track inventory and create a system to establish and maintain scheduled, cost effective, procurement processes;
  • Regularly evaluate vendors, maintain good relationships, and ensure pricing is competitive by monitoring other vendors and negotiate pricing;
  • Oversee the purchase of equipment and furniture for all project locations;
  • Assist with new project location set up and existing space remodeling for operating projects, as needed;
  • Coordinate office repairs with the Center’s facilities manager, building management and contractors for the Center’s main office;
  • Oversee the organization’s fleet of vehicles and manage driver authorization, training and operating procedures;
  • Manage the relationship with the Center’s commercial insurance broker— request COI’s, provide regular updates on covered property and office locations, and document claims;
  • Manage office administrative procedures and protocols and update as needed;
  • Provide support to project-based office managers by sharing best practices, procedures and recommended vendors;
  • Collaborate with the Communications team on organizational branding for supplies, promotional materials and swag;
  • Coordinate special events and staff activities;
  • Manage the Center calendar; and
  • Assist with other relevant administrative projects as needed.

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with at least five years’ experience in an office management or similar role. Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Comfortability with navigating web-based platforms. Strong organizational and analytical skills, and relationship management skills are a must. This candidate should also have a strong commitment to social justice, and an interest in and experience working in programs serving youth and young adults in vulnerable communities.
