Movement.org seeks to catalyze leaders to spiritually and socially impact their cities. At MOVEMENT.ORG we rely on our IT systems to power the solutions that help our team serve city leaders and help city leaders convene and collaborate. The IT Manager, working closely with the Director, Operations, will manage the organization’s technology infrastructure and solutions to enhance the team’s ability to accelerate the mission.

Duties and Responsibilities

IT Management

·      Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT.

·      Maintain essential IT operation, including operating systems, security tools, applications, cloud servers, email systems, laptops, tablets, software, and hardware.

·      Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.

·      Set up hardware and software and train employees when needed.

·      Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software.

·      Function as the team’s Zoom expert, facilitating important Zoom gatherings.

Strategic Involvement

·      Analyze requirements by partnering with initiative leaders to develop seamless solutions for current IT needs.

·      Make recommendations based on strategic direction that address potential future gaps in advance.

·      Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and make recommendations for infrastructure improvements.

·      Recommend, develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organization.

Team Life

·      Provides support across all initiatives.

·      Manages relationships with IT vendors and provides leadership to their work.

·      Participates in the MOVEMENT.ORG team meetings scheduled throughout the year.

·      Reports to the Director of Operations, meeting weekly via Zoom to assess progress against plans.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·      Demonstrated Christian character and values; knowledge of the Bible and the Christian worldview;

·      Customer-service oriented professional who is genuinely concerned with improving the user’s experience;

·      2-5 years’ experience in a related field with increasing responsibility;

·      Must be detailed-oriented, flexible, proactive, communicative, knowledgeable, comprehensive, and resourceful;

·      Experience in non-profit organizations is highly desirable;

·      Experience in a start-up environment and its associated pace is a plus;

·      Bachelor’s Degree in IT Management, Computer Science, Information Management or related field.

Work Hours and Benefits

·      Primarily remote full-time position with work environment flexibility.

·      Because the IT Manager will be assisting with events on-site in New York, the candidate must be able to travel to Midtown Manhattan via ground transportation (car/train/bus) in less than 2-hours. 

·      Schedule flexibility, with some evening/early morning and occasional weekend work.

·      Travel to in-person team meetings in NYC at least quarterly and additional on-site events as needed.

·      Generous PTO package including vacation starting at 3 weeks accrued per year plus accrued sick time.
