Professional Women in Construction is looking for a dynamic and creative Community and Member Director.
This position will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the NY Board of Directors and NY Committees to develop, plan and implement all NY Chapter programming.
The NY Chapter has approximately 12 committee events, 6 panel events, and 3 fundraisers. These events range from 20 – 300+ people. This is the minimum number of events per year. The Director will work with the Board
of Directors and the Committees to determine the overall schedule for the year. The Director will support venue, catering, and marketing logistics for all events.
In addition to events, the Director will also manage the annual and event sponsors, manage the NY scholarship program, prepare and implement the NY Chapter budget, organize and assist in NY Board meetings, and
organize and assist in planning of the NY Board annual retreat.
Job Duties:
· Event management, including ticketing and list management, venue coordination and catering.
· Committee Management
· Marketing
o Friday emails to the community – design and send mass emails (Constant Contact)
o Update the website (WordPress)
o Develop programs and literature to support events – standardizing language
o Create event promotional materials and other marketing information as needed
· Manage Annual Sponsorship Program
· Manage social networking, oversee the NY Chapter’s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts as well as manage the organization’s website and blog
· Manage interns and volunteers
· Write correspondence to and follow up promptly and professionally with members
· Write content for website and newsletters
· Develop and implement the NY Chapter budget Board of Directors
o Schedule and prepare presentations for the NY Board of Directors
o Organize and plan the annual BOD retreat.
Qualifications:
· Excellent written and verbal communications
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
· Event planning experience
· Strong work ethic with can do attitude
· Exhibit initiative, judgment and customer service skills
· Proven record as a team player
· Proficient in Adobe InDesign
· Basic Photoshop
