Student Life Success Coach

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Student Life Director (SLD), the Student Life Success Coach (SLSC) is responsible for supporting the vision and implementation of the Student Life program, ensuring that all students define their dreams, have access to experiential learning opportunities during the academic year and summer, and engage in additional skills developments opportunities within and beyond our program. SLSCs work with the SLD to successfully implement the Student Life (SL) program and ensure that departmental goals are met in the following program components: experiential learning workshops, summer engagement, community service, site culture events, and biannual showcase events. SLSCs will deliver and manage Student Life programming (such as but not limited to creative writing, career success, introductory computer programming, and design, with some curriculum and training provided).

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Work 20-24 hours per week, primarily between 1:00PM-7:30PM Mondays-Thursdays, with the potential for some Friday and Saturday work. 
  • Manage caseloads of students in meeting their programmatic goals, and applying for meaningful summer programs.
  • Support the Student Life Director with recurring departmental and site-wide events, and summer programs.
  • Complete administrative and operational tasks including, but not limited to, maintaining the space, monitoring technology, taking attendance, application support and documentation, contacting parents and families, and data entry.
  • Meet regularly with the Student Life Director to discuss student progress.
  • Other projects and bodies of work as assigned by the SLD or Site Director.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated success in motivating and managing high school students of diverse backgrounds to meet high expectations in youth development, experiential learning, and/or service learning - or similar experience
  • Builds relationships and communicates in ways that foster trust, values differences and furthers College Track’s mission
  • Focuses on delivering outcomes despite obstacles, seeks out challenges as opportunities to grow, takes unexpected setbacks in stride, and is able to galvanize self towards goals and impact
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and ability to manage diverse projects
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative and ownership over assigned bodies of work
  • Obtained or working towards a 4-year degree
