Warrenville Youth & Family Services (WYFS)

 

WYFS is a multi-purpose community resource center serving the residents of the Warrenville area. Programs include the Community Counseling Center, Case Management Assistance, Mentoring and Quest - an after-school/summer-school program for middle school aged youth.

 

Job Responsibilities:

The Bilingual Youth & Family Therapist provides support and therapy to children, youth and their families with the goals of keeping youth in crisis safe, connected to their parents and prevent or minimize involvement with child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Responsibilities include providing therapy in a District 33 public school with elementary students identified as high risk by their families or the educational system; maintain a half-time caseload with youth and their families at the WYFS Counseling Center; maintaining strong community contacts to facilitate excellent coordination of comprehensive services and the completion of monthly reports regarding program services. This position will also serve as a member of the crisis intervention team and carry the pager on a rotating basis.

 

Requirements:

Bilingual (Spanish/ English) with ability to provide therapy in Spanish. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field. Clinical licensure strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in behavioral health treatment and previous experience in systemic interventions with children and youth; ability to navigate the educational, legal and mental health delivery systems; sensitivity to the needs of a low-income, culturally diverse population. Valid IL driver’s license, insurance, reliable vehicle and good driving record. Microsoft Word/ Excel. A commitment to Outreach Community Ministries’ Statement of Mission and Faith.

 

Status:

Full-time at 40-45 hours/ week. Schedule to include 2 evenings/week; strong preference for candidates willing to respond to crisis calls on a rotating basis.
