The Prospect Research Manager is an integral position on the Fund Development team and manages the research program and overall coordination and production of information on prospects and donors, as well as the overall moves management process for GLIDE’s Comprehensive Campaign. Developing a strong understanding of GLIDE and its mission, values and goals is key in this role. Work responsibilities will occasionally require long days and/or evening or weekend work and holidays. Regular and predictable attendance is assumed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties can be assigned, and the duties and responsibilities of the job are subject to change without notice.
Prepare in-depth, confidential research profiles on individuals using a wide variety of biographical, organizational and other sources (prospect research tools, internet web sites, and other external sources of public information);
Maintain and update a moves management system that drives mutually-agreed upon cultivation and solicitation strategies for campaign donors and prospects and facilitate its day-to-day functionality to ensure the tracking of follow-up activities to move prospects through the solicitation stages;
Record all interactions, including meetings, phone calls, emails, mailings, etc. with campaign donors and prospects in Salesforce;
Provide informed and timely campaign and donor pipeline reports and revenue forecasts as needed;
Proactively identify comprehensive campaign prospects through research of prospective donors, corporations, and foundations, assessing financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, and giving propensity and connections to GLIDE; establish and maintain a process for assignment of new campaign prospects;
Serve as the primary manager of the Fund Development office’s prospect rating system and database entries to ensure that they are up-to-date, accurate and properly documented in Salesforce;
Develop and disseminate biographical and other briefing information to specified Fund Development staff and other key staff and volunteer leaders in advance of special events (GLIDE and other community events, as needed);
Work with specified Fund Development staff to acknowledge and track individual donors with timely letters and calls;
Research and maintain knowledge of fundraising best practices and industry benchmark data related to areas of focus for this position;
Attend select GLIDE donor cultivation and fundraising events.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of fund development experience in a non-profit setting or equivalent combination of education and experience;
BA degree preferred
Experience with fundraising databases (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) highly preferred;
Experience in moves management preferred;
Strong knowledge of prospect research and tools.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Exceptionally strong communication skills. Has the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with diverse groups. Has the ability to reduce large amounts of information/data to concise points;
Excellent written communication skills. Ability to write clearly and concisely. Editing and proofreading skills essential.
Ability to perform mathematic calculations with speed and high degree of accuracy;
Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data and other data found in reports relevant to programs or projects.
Advanced skills in MS Office suite;
Experience in prospect research tools (iWave, RelSci, others) preferred
Salesforce experience strongly preferred, but not required.
