Description

FACT is a national non-profit organization based in Chicago. We are seeking to hire a part-time Staff Associate to work a minimum of 16 hours a week beginning later in September if possible, or by October 1, 2018. This position will be located at FACT’s Chicago office.


FACT envisions that all food-producing animals will be raised in a healthy and humane manner so that everyone will have access to safe and humanely produced food. We achieve this vision by promoting humane farming and advocating for the safe production of meat, milk and eggs. FACT also helps consumers make humane and healthy choices. About the Job Opportunity:

The Staff Associate will both assist FACT’s Executive Director in fundraising management and fiscal recordkeeping and FACT’s Humane Farming Program Director in day-to-day program operations as needed.

 

Fundraising Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process and sort incoming donations from both mail and online. Assist the Executive Director in gift processing and deposits.
  • Prepare and mail routine donor gift acknowledgements.
  • Become versed in FACT’s donor database system, Little Green Light (LGL), to ensure that donor records are consistently updated and accurate.
  • Maintain the strictest of confidentiality regarding donor data and privacy.
  • Assist in other individual donor mailings as necessary.

 

Fiscal Recordkeeping Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare incoming bills and invoices for check processing.
  • Assist in mailing checks and payments.
  • File financial records in accordance to annual audit needs.

 

Humane Farming Program Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with FACT’s farmer grant program by organizing files and preparing documents for review.
  • Assist with FACT’s farmer education program by helping to track requests and ship materials.
  • Assist with other program tasks as assigned.Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to keep sensitive data confidential
  • Ability to take initiative and accomplish tasks independently as needed, while tracking time and productivity
  • Detail oriented; able to manage multiple deadlines and assignments simultaneously


Salary: A part-time salary of $20 per hour for a minimum of 16 hours of work per week, a monthly total of $1,280.00. Hours may increase based on FACT’s needs and the staff person’s expressed skills.

 

Work Hours: Work hours for each day to be established with the Staff Associate, with preference to their being in the office at least Tuesdays through Thursdays. As staff work remotely (telecommute) every Friday, working from home that day is possible based on the tasks to be accomplished. Evening and weekend work will not be needed.
