Partnership to End Addiction is a national nonprofit uniquely positioned to reach, engage and help families impacted by addiction. With decades of experience in research, direct service, communications and partnership-building, we provide families with personalized support and resources — while mobilizing policymakers, researchers and health care professionals to better address addiction systemically on a national scale. For more information, visit www.drugfree.org. For information on our current research projects, visit https://drugfree.org/research/.

This Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is intended to support a recent graduate in Clinical Psychology or a related discipline who intends to follow a clinical research career trajectory in addiction science. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D.; those who are ABD may be considered. We are looking for a highly motivated and self-directed person to join our Research and Evaluation department, to direct an ongoing project, to contribute to the development and application of new projects, and to establish a record of early professional scholarship. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with Partnership’s research team on current research endeavors, state and federal grant applications, and collaborative publications.

This position is an opportunity for a junior PhD in psychology, public health, or a related field to grow and develop their own program of research. The position will provide research mentoring (including grantsmanship) and professional development opportunities (including multisite research efforts and scientific conferences) in multiple areas of prevention, clinical, and recovery research on addiction. The successful candidate will have experience in the areas of project management, program evaluation, and data analysis. The position is fully funded for two years, and we are committed to collectively pursuing longer-term growth and extended funding for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Vice President of Research and Evaluation to realize the vision and mission of the Research and Evaluation division.
  • Support teams across the organization in designing and conducting evaluations of Partnership services.
  • Manage and analyze quantitative data for projects across the organization.
  • Design and direct evaluations for external partners.
  • Assist in applying, and apply as a principal investigator for new research grants to further the science in areas of expertise that are relevant to Partnership’s mission.
  • Author publications and conference presentations to disseminate findings of research and evaluation projects.
  • Lead the evaluation reporting efforts for a SAMHSA-funded continuous quality improvement integrated care project

Qualifications/Skills:

  • PhD in psychology, public health or related field
  • Experience in analyses of quantitative data using major statistical software packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata and/or R)
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
  • Knowledge of evaluation design and methods

Note: We are temporarily teleworking during the COVID-19 pandemic.
