Description

This position will provide support for the Seattle Youth Violence Prevention Initiative. this includes support to the Network Coordinator, Intake & Referral Specialists, and Case Management Program.


Duties & Responsibilities;


Program Implementation

  • Track and monitor timelines to meet SYVPI reporting deadlines, including tracking case manager records of activity to determine monthly outcomes. Communicate needs for updated records to program supervisor
  • Assist and support the Intake & Referral Specialists including receiving and processing referrals, completing intake screening, and referring youth to appropriate services
  • Assist Youth Engagement Coordinator with implementing programming
  • Assist and provide support to Case Managers
  • Conduct audits on case files
  • Maintain and update agency client files
  • Maintain and update information in the agency database


Community Outreach

  • Assist with the connection, coordination, and collaboration with network-identified agencies, as necessary, to ensure youth are actively engaged in programs
  • Collaborate with Initiative member agencies to identify and provide services to eligible youth
  • Refer youth for participation in suitable activities based on the client’s needs
  • Advocate for youth and work with community/support service agencies to resolve access barriers
  • Attend weekly case consultation and/or team meetings
  • Attend other Youth Initiative monthly meetings


Requirements

  • Experience completing comprehensive intakes
  • Valid WA State Driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation 
  • Clear driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
  • Computer skills required: MS office, familiarity with databases
  • BA Preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Must pass a Washington State Patrol Criminal Background Check
  • Ability to communicate, in writing and verbally, including writing reports and business correspondence; speaking effectively before individuals and public groups
  • Ability to interview, conduct community outreach or education in community-based organization, and communicate effectively with diverse populations, including school personnel, service providers, law enforcement, parents of referred youth, and funders
  • Ability to utilize time management techniques to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to programming change

Benefits

  • 36 hours per week; 52 weeks per year, depending on funding
  • $17 an hour; non-exempt
