The Resident Life Coach provides comprehensive case management service to residents at Opportunity Place and Seneca. This position also serves as a resource to other housing staff on helping residents increase their housing stability. The Resident Life Coach also collaborates with other housing staff on building activities that involve Opportunity Place residents and Seneca residents.
This position has a social justice component that will require critical thinking around how external systems impact the work that we are doing through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. Knowing the core principals of anti-racism and grounding those principles in everyday work, as well as working well in non-white environments and championing anti-racism policy, are required job skills and core values. The Resident Life coach will: provide case management and supportive housing services to residents of YWCA Opportunity Place and YWCA Seneca; facilitate educational classes, workshops and presentations; and provide residents with support services and/or make referrals or linkages to other community agencies to resolve barriers to housing, employment and other basic needs.
