The Manhattan office is dedicated to providing high quality legal services in the areas of housing, family law, public benefits, employment, education, consumer, immigration and disability rights, with special units serving particular vulnerable populations including domestic violence victims and people living with HIV. We are committed to working in partnership with community-based organizations in the low-income communities we serve to address the causes of poverty.

The practice will include both individual representation and group work on behalf of tenant associations fighting eviction, harassment, neglect, and overcharges. The paralegal will be expected to work closely with lawyers, tenant organizers, tenant associations and community partners to identify and address housing needs, and to conduct outreach and community education. The paralegal will also assess potential clients, provide legal guidance with the assistance of attorneys and engage in advocacy. Occasional evening and weekend outreach will be necessary.
