March On is rapidly growing with big plans and goals for 2021 and beyond, and we are looking for the right thought partner and doer to help us achieve them. In this role, you will represent March On across a variety of sectors, expanding our relationships and impact in new places and markets. You must be highly organized and capable of managing a multitude of details. You should be energized by keeping multiple projects in motion, enjoy working with a large internal team and external partners, and be committed to political and civic engagement.

● Your professional goals or personal experiences have a strong link to democracy, policy, or politics

● You get energy both from planning and doing

● You know how to use tools to stay organized and keep the trains running on time

● You can both manage longer-term projects and make time for short-term, urgent to-dos

● You enjoy both working independently and also collaborating with a team

● You enjoy learning new skills

● You enjoy being a part of a diverse team that has a strong sense of community

Required skills

● Experience with community organizing (campaigns, advocacy, or nonprofit community engagement)

● High level of organization and responsiveness on email, Slack, and text

● Comfort taking an ambiguous goal and turning it into next steps or a first draft

● Ability to create and present slide presentations

● Ability to seek and respect input from a wide range of perspectives

Additional helpful skills

● Analytic aptitude and enjoyment of data

Responsibilities and duties

Working closely with the Political and Strategic Campaigns Director, the Social Impact Project Manager will develop and implement a strategy for managing the March On the South, a mass mobilization to demand that elected officials stop hijacking democracy, denounce voter suppression and ensure fair, easy access to the vote for all. Responsibilities include:

● Overseeing all March-related workstreams, scheduling and planning

● Creating and implementing project timelines

● Coordinating between working committees, constituency groups and fiscal sponsors to ensure transparency and communication

● Developing and executing partnerships at the national level and—in coordination with the State Director—growing affiliate networks at the state level

● Working closely with committee and group coordinators to set goals and help implement and track strategy

● Ensuring maximum and timely communication among all stakeholders in the coalition

● Having a bird’s-eye view of affiliated marches nationally to identify and fill gaps

● Keeping files and folders organized in Google Drive

● Organizing within AirTable

● Managing Slack communications

Compensation & details

This is a five-month, full-time, remote position beginning in May 2021, ending September

2021. Salary/compensation will be commensurate with experience.
