The Center for Science in the Public Interest is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to work in our Washington, DC office to oversee general accounting operations including budget preparation, month-end close, and year-end tax preparation and audit processes. The Senior Accountant will partner with key stakeholders to ensure there are sufficient systems and procedures in place to provide effective financial tracking and reporting support to existing and new program implementation. This position is a member of small but busy accounting team, has supervisory responsibility, and reports to the Director of Finance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will help ensure all financial accounting functions are completed accurately, prepare interim financial reports, manage periodic compliance reporting, and budget preparation, and is responsible for the following:
The salary range is $85,000 to $95,000, based on experience. CSPI offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes: 3 weeks of annual vacation leave; additional paid holiday leave between December 24 and January 1; 8 weeks of paid parental leave; excellent medical and dental insurance with CSPI paying a significant portion of employee and dependent premiums; and a 3% employer match contribution to the retirement plan after one year of service.
