Position Summary

Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Program and Operations, the Program and Training Coordinator is responsible for overseeing implementation and coordination of monthly birthday parties taking place at our partner shelters ("On-Site Party Program") in New England. This includes managing shelter relationships; monthly communication with the party coordinators and shelter staff; supervision and training of party coordinators and party volunteers; attending parties in each region on a monthly basis and other administrative tasks as necessary. The candidate for this position will manage competing demands and timelines, actively serving as the coordinating liaison for the On-Site party program. This position works closely with the In-take/Inventory Coordinator, Volunteer Operations Manager, and Party Activity Coordinator to ensure all party needs are met



Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with shelter staff and ensure understanding of their specific programs; maintain regular communications with and support of Party Coordinators and Party Volunteers
  • Train new Party Coordinators and ensure ongoing compliance with the program model
  • Work closely with In-take/Inventory Coordinator and Party Activity Coordinator to ensure successful parties
  • Participate in weekly Programming meeting


Program Administration

  • Attend parties on a monthly basis (and as-needed) to ensure compliance (goal is to attend two parties per month)
  • Send out monthly On-Site program update for shelters and PCs in addition to other communication as needed
  • Follow up on missing information on orders and questions when necessary
  • Track distribution of PC Party Totes
  • Follow procedures for filing monthly paperwork


Office/Event Support

  • Be willing to assist with the moving and carrying of supplies
  • Assist in answering office door and greeting donors
  • Assist with garbage and recycling
  • Participate in Birthday Wishes annual fundraising events

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT)

Applicants must have access to a car and be willing to travel throughout MA and RI. Mileage will be reimbursed.
