The Meals on Wheels (MOW) Dispatcher in Monroe is responsible for dispatching the meal routes that are delivered from the Monroe office. The dispatcher must make sure that the meals go out accurately, at the correct temperature, and in a timely fashion. S/he must interact with: the MOW coordinator, the volunteers who deliver the meals, and the recipients.


Responsibilities Include:

--Print and make changes to daily driver sheets

--Physically set up coolers/hot bags for the routes

--Accurately fill coolers/hot bags for each route

--Take meal temperatures and report them in a temperature log

--Instruct volunteers daily and provide them with all materials for distribution

--Help to train new volunteers

--Listen to feedback from volunteers regarding clients not home and report this information to KMOW coordinator

--Clean coolers and hot bags upon return

--Handle unexpected (“surprise”) visits from town/county/state health inspectors


Requirements

--proficient in Word/Excel

--ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure

--ability to get along well with people

--skills in independent decision-making

Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM (20 hours weekly)
