In this role, you will be responsible for the management and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies and promotional campaigns for IDSA’s membership, meetings, services and the public.

Essential Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with Director of Marketing and Member Engagement and Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Membership, implement a comprehensive strategy to increase member awareness of the association’s benefits, services and initiatives and increase engagement with IDSA.
  • In conjunction with Director of Communications and Director of Editorial and Policy Communications, assist with developing, writing, producing and managing communications vehicles directed to members and the public.
  • Work with Director of Marketing and Member Engagement to develop and implement recruitment and/or renewal activities, including but not limited to the development and management of membership marketing collateral.
  • Develop social media content, work with Digital and Web Manager to develop and implement a social media strategy, and engage a group of social media ambassadors to amplify the IDSA message.
  • Write, edit, or copyedit other IDSA and HIVMA communications materials, including newsletters, e-mails, web content, promotional publications, brochures, speeches and talking points, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • College degree in English, journalism, public relations or related field.
  • Three years’ experience in marketing, communication, and/or member communications programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Strong familiarity with AP style.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • A working understanding of social media mediums, as well as new and emerging communications technologies.
  • Demonstrated creativity.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects on multiple deadlines.


Required Skills

  • Association or nonprofit experience helpful.
  • General knowledge of health care, preferably infectious diseases and HIV.
