Our Organization

Students Rising Above (SRA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving all nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area. SRA believes in the transformative power of education. Every day we work to empower underrepresented students with drive and potential to achieve their life goals by connecting them to the tools, resources, and supportive community they need to excel and thrive on their college-to-career journey. SRA engages an assets-based approach in our work, allowing students’ innate talents, strengths, and potential to shine as they become society’s next generation of diverse leaders.

Comprised of a tightly organized team of trained experts, corporate partners, an engaged student community, and the commitment of both individual donors and foundations, SRA has created all-encompassing programs that offers thousands of students:

  • Social-emotional support
  • Academic advising
  • Healthcare navigation
  • Career guidance
  • Professional development

In 2015, SRA established its SRA Hub, a uniquely comprehensive educational platform allowing more SRA students and partners to virtually access college access and success resources and personalized support. The Hub is now ready for an experienced, ambitious EdTech product manager to take its design, functionality, and distribution to a new level of social impact. By providing comprehensive guidance and support whenever and wherever it’s needed, SRA accomplishes its mission through the Hub and other proven initiatives that have direct and profound effects, driving change for society.
