The Designer is responsible for the coordination and production of a variety of outputs across the Studio Museum’s print and digital communication channels. A key stakeholder to shaping and maintaining the Museum’s brand and visual identity, they work with the Communications team and internal stakeholders to identify needs and requirements for production of accurate, attractive, and strategic print and materials projects.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities             

·        Provide design quality control and ensure consistency of visual brand across print and digital materials.

·        Produce print and digital collateral including, but not limited to, exhibition title treatments, wall text, brochures, flyers, invitations, media kits, web and social graphics, and marketing materials.

·        Work to develop and refine internal design workflows.

·        Collaborate with contracted designers to create and update digital and print collateral, including signage, invitations, brochures, and advertisements.

·        Work to develop and implement updated branding in conjunction with the Museum’s new building project

·        Cultivate and maintain vendor relationships with printers, graphic designers, etc., for creative project needs.

·        In collaboration with the Communications team, support work with and liase with contracted video producers.

·        Perform other duties as needed in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing department.


Experience


·        BA / BFA in design or digital media

·        at least 1 year related experience, ideally in a cultural institution

·        Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

·        Experience with typesetting and publication layout.

·        Animation, video editing, and illustration skills a plus.
