The Access Fund-Jeep Conservation Team program continues to meet the growing demand for climbing area stewardship and sustainability, while providing climbing communities and land managers with professionals well-equipped to fulfill complex scopes. Access Fund’s three-team model; CT National, CT East & CT West will continue into 2020, servicing communities across the US. Access Fund is currently hiring to fill its Conservation Teams for 2020, where each crew is comprised of two climbing conservation specialists.
Conservation Team members must possess a passion for climbing and travel, proven trail-building skills, conservation and stewardship education expertise, excellent communication skills, volunteer coordination experience and exceptional team compatibility. Only pre-paired teams will be considered; the Access Fund will not place individuals in a team. The Team will be selected for their ability to inspire the climbing community and promote the mission and values of the Access Fund while creating sustainable climbing resources. The 2020 Conservation Team program will begin on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, teams will be on the road visiting climbing areas throughout the U.S. through December 4, 2020.
Conservation Team members are expected to lead and inspire climbing area stewardship activities throughout the United States. Teams assess climbing area conservation needs and work with local climbing organizations (LCOs), land managers and owners, volunteers and Conservation Crews to address those needs. The Conservation Teams provide training on climbing stewardship best practices; host Adopt a Crag events; construct sustainable climbing
areas; and connect the climbing community with the Access Fund at gyms, festivals, and other events and manage project operations in the field. Regional teams will be dispatched to specific, long-term projects that encompass a host models in completing large-scale initiatives, including
overseeing Conservation Corps programs.
We encourage teams to apply who enjoy travel and adventure, thrive in a unique lifestyle, love to work outside, with people, and want to help improve climbing areas while educating the climbing community. Teams must make a commitment through the 1st week of December 2020.
