The Role:

The Major Gifts Associate will provide a high level of support to the Major Gifts and Events functions as well as Major Gift staff in the field. The Associate will provide oversight of major donor gift processing, donor stewardship, and personal acknowledgements. The Associate will also support major donor communications management and tracking of relevant components (such as mail, email, and phone briefings). Additionally, the Associate will provide event support for the major gifts staff in the field, as needed.


·        Act as point person for specific projects and timelines within major gifts and events and generate recommendations for maintaining appropriate systems to track successful implementation;

·        Provide administrative support to the major gifts team and staff in the field;

·        Assist in the production of reports and assist in donor stewardship;

·        Create donor materials, including the drafting of donor correspondence, donor communications, meeting memos, and background documents, as opportunities arise;

·        Coordinate major donor mailings and donor briefings/conference calls;

·        Attend program meetings, as assigned, and inform team of key programmatic developments;

·        Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of major donor gift processing and acknowledgements;

·        Assist with meeting preparation and handle meeting logistics, events, and coordination;

·        Assist with research support to aid major gift officers when needed; and

·        Other Development responsibilities as needed.


·        Strong commitment to the Center’s mission, purpose, and values;

·        Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;

·        3 years related development experience;

·        Experience with Raiser’s Edge and with Luminate or other fundraising databases;

·        Proficiency with Windows environment and standard MS Office suite: Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, etc.;

·        Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording information; and

·        Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
