Foundation Communities

Foundation Communities has an exciting opportunity for a talented nonprofit leader to direct the creation and delivery of our high impact service programs. The Chief Program Officer will supervise a diverse staff that lead our supportive housing service models, as well as our education, health, and financial stability program areas. This position will directly coach, develop, evaluate and hold accountable program directors in each area of our work. The CPO will cultivate and maintain critical working relationships with partner agencies. This position will work very closely with our Institutional Giving Director and Director of Corporate & Volunteer Engagement to raise funds and volunteers needed for our programs. This position will ensure compliance with commitments and see that we have the necessary reporting systems.

The CPO will be part of the executive leadership team directing Foundation Communities. The CPO will report to the Executive Director.

Ideal Qualities:

  • Vision for wholistic services for families and individuals in a residential community; advocate for service programs.
  • 10+ years in nonprofit sector - especially experienced in program development and funding.
  • Social entrepreneurial track record; ability to think strategically and creatively to develop our services; results oriented.
  • Background of service with diverse communities.
  • Successful track record of all phases of grant and budget management.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and personnel management experience with a record of bringing out the best in staff; experience managing self-directed leaders.
  • Demonstrated judgement, humility, adaptability, and passion for our mission.
  • Shared commitment to our core values, especially around diversity, equity and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field; Master’s Degree preferred or commensurate experience
  • Ten years minimum experience in nonprofit management
  • Ability to manage and navigate complex issues
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills

Physical Demands/Work Environment: Standard office conditions with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Travel up to 20% within the state.
