As an Adult Education Instructor you will responsible for students’ educational goals and will provide individualized and classroom instruction for students in all HiSET subjects. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the class and the safety and welfare of the clients, during on and off-site activities.


Specific responsibilities include:


·        Creating original materials as part of a student’s curriculum

·        Preparing and implementing daily lesson plans

·        Evaluating students’ progress and providing feedback

·                 Assisting in curriculum development

·                 Providing individualized and classroom instruction

·                 Assisting with student assessment testing and follow up

·                 Integrating technology into classroom instruction

·                 Maintaining a safe classroom environment that promotes learning

·                 Compiling accurate records of student activities and progress

·                 Assisting students in arranging to sit for the official HiSET test

·                 Participating in academic case management with students

·                 Serving as a liaison between Bridge and the Adult Learning Center regarding HiSET      testing and other outside agencies

·                 Ensuring that all activities, services and programs through Bridge are conducted in a manner that is sensitive to and shows respect for the cultural and ethnic diversity for all Bridge clients.


To qualify for this position, you will have a Bachelor's Degree preferably in education and experience in a regular or alternative/Special Education classroom, knowledge of MS Office, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should also be well organized and able to prioritize multiple projects in dynamic environment and have a high comfort level working in a diverse environment.
