Social Media and Community Engagement Specialist

The Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco is seeking a full-time Social Media and Community Engagement Specialist to creatively tell the story of our work and support fundraising and program efforts that bring our community together as we build a vibrant, healthy, and empowered Korean American community.

Who We Are: The Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco (KACF-SF) is a grantmaking organization that serves the greater Bay Area’s Korean American community. We work together with our nonprofit partners and community leaders to empower individuals and transform the underserved Korean communities. Our three main areas of focus are: 1) distributing grants and building capacity of Korean serving organizations, 2) connecting and convening our community to address critical issues, and 3) fostering a culture of giving. Position Summary: The Social Media & Community Engagement Specialist will work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Programs on KACF-SF’s social media, communications, and events efforts in order to grow the brand, inspire philanthropy, and share knowledge needs and issues in the Korean American community.

Candidates should be highly organized self-starters with a passion for our community. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, creative, enjoys writing and working with people, and is a problem-solver.

Flexible work schedule and remote work options available. Occasional travel to meetings and events throughout the Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop creative marketing strategies, create content, and maintain various social media and communications platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Mailchimp, website)
• Work with Executive Director, Program Director, and graphic designer to create invitations, impact report, infographics and other marketing materials, as needed
• Create and implement innovative ideas around digital and in-person engagement efforts
• Provide support for virtual and in-person fundraising and program events, including the annual gala and community workshops and conferences
• Track and maintain marketing and engagement analytics

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of work experience
• Highly organized & able to juggle multiple tasks; demonstrated strong follow-through on assigned tasks
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with Korean culture
• Entrepreneurial and a go-getter is welcome!
• Knowledge of social media and marketing best practices
• Willingness to learn and grow with us
