Position Overview

HELP R.O.A.D.S. is a comprehensive, non-residential individual and family safety program providing a variety of services designed to assist in empowering survivors of domestic violence, other crime victims, and their families. As a clinician with HELP R.O.A.D.S., you’ll report the program’s Executive Director and provide empowerment counseling, therapeutic, and advocacy case management services to victims of domestic violence survivors and their children. These services include: individual, family, and group counseling; risk assessment; safety planning; development of individualized parenting plans; advocacy; and other supportive services. Your goal will be to help families achieve safety and long term stability and to address the effects of abuse, neglect, and trauma.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Providing empowerment counseling services for families – including advocacy, crisis intervention, and groups.
  • Completing clinical assessments and treatment plans.
  • Demonstrating competence in evidence-based modalities.
  • Developing effective relationships with families.
  • Facilitating appropriate clinical, therapeutic services as well as psycho-educational individual and group sessions, including parenting skills support groups.
  • Advocating for and assisting families and individuals in the negotiation of services through social service agencies.
  • Completing all appropriate paperwork, including case notes and reports, in a timely manner.
  • Participating in team and agency meetings, individual supervisory meetings, case conferences, and other meetings as requested.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field required, with LMSW preferred.
  • Minimum of one year relevant work experience providing counseling and supportive services to domestic violence survivors and their families.
  • Knowledge in the modalities of strength-based empowerment.
  • Experience facilitating support groups and workshops.
  • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
