Forward Ever Sustainable Business Alliance (Forward Ever) is looking for an individual to join our team as the Managing Outreach Coordinator.  With a PASSION for community development, the Outreach Coordinator will represent Forward Ever as our community liaison, and support and encourage businesses/consumers to engage with our programs. 

Important: The ideal candidate will have a keen working knowledge of the city of Newark NJ, is a team player, will be able to work independently, and will have excellent communication skills with a variety of stakeholders including small/local business owners, community groups, and key stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Educate and market Forward Ever/Shop Newark programs to small and local business owners to enroll them in the program 
  • Provide ongoing marketing of Forward Ever/Shop Newark programs and services to new and existing businesses through direct outreach activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with SHOP NEWARK enrollees
  • Conduct community small business presentations/ trainings
  • Organize business seminars and events and attend community board and steering committee meetings
  • Develop relationships with Resource Partners to support small/local business owners
  • Engage in content creation and digital outreach
  • Track and analyze activities, outcomes and impact of programs
  • Compile data and complete monthly reporting requirements
  • Meet performance objectives as identified by the Executive Director
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned


EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years working in an urban community interfacing with key business/ resident stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize work tasks,  works well  under tight schedules
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms like Mailchimp, Nation builder
  • In-depth knowledge of Google Workplace tools like Sheets and Documents and Microsoft Office Suite tools like Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Slack, Trello, and other project management tools
  • Experience working with CRM platforms like Hubspot and Salesforce are a big plus
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to listen critically to identify needs and solve problems
  • Able to analyze and interpret data
  • Knowledge of business principles and issues facing local business owners
  • Ability to pivot/manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Fluency in Spanish/Portuguese is preferred
  • Experience with Canva or Photoshop is helpful

Salary

20 hours per week, $20-$25/hr depending on experience
