    Description

Reports to: Chief Program Officer, PeacePlayers International

Location: On-site, Intergenerational Center (800 Poplar Grove St, Baltimore, MD 21216)

    SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

PeacePlayers uses the power of sport to unite divided communities and develop youth leaders who can create a more peaceful and equitable world. In 2017, PeacePlayers launched in the United States through a partnership with Nike, expanding its proven global model to cities across the country, including Baltimore, Brooklyn, Detroit, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

In Baltimore, PeacePlayers has built a strong foundation of youth development and peacebuilding through basketball. The next phase of our growth centers on deep partnership and sustainability — with a special focus on a new, innovative collaboration with Catholic Charities at their newly opened Intergenerational Center, where PeacePlayers serves as the recreational partner implementing PeacePlayers’ out-of-school-time basketball, peacebuilding programs, leagues, and open gyms for youth and families (see description of the new Center below).

The Director of PeacePlayers Baltimore will be the key driver of this next chapter — leading efforts to secure and sustain funding, strengthen strategic partnerships, and ensure high-quality programming that meets the shared vision for impact between PeacePlayers and Catholic Charities. This person will bring entrepreneurial energy, a collaborative spirit, and a deep belief in sport’s power to transform communities.
