Description

Our team is growing! Homebase is adding a new administrative position for a Project Coordinator to join our passionate national team. We offer a competitive salary based on experience (starting at $50,000 - $75,000, DOE), and a comprehensive benefits package, including a 5% 403(b) match, health insurance, and generous PTO. This position is based out of our office in San Francisco, but all staff are currently remote during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Homebase is a public interest nonprofit dedicated to the social problem of homelessness. Our mission is to end homelessness, prevent its recurrence, and decrease its effect on communities. We work at the local, state and national levels to support communities in designing systems and implementing responses to homelessness while fostering collaboration and collective impact in addressing its political and economic causes.

Summary

The Project Coordinator works closely with Homebase teams of policy analysts, staff attorneys, and directing analysts/attorneys to support communities across the country in implementing solutions to homelessness. The position is responsible for extensive outreach, communications, logistics, and coordination, serving as a liaison for key points of contact and providing a variety of support for Homebase projects and initiatives. This is a dynamic position at a flexible, supportive, and growing organization, working closely with a diverse team of internal and external partners to end the crisis of homelessness.

Responsibilities

·     Provide administration and coordination support for a variety of Homebase projects, including scheduling and coordination of community outreach, stakeholder meetings, in person and virtual trainings, and qualitative processes (focus groups, key informant interviews, community surveys, etc.).

·     Manage listservs and communications with a wide variety of national and local stakeholders on behalf of Homebase to support implementation of Homebase contracts and scopes of work.

·     Facilitate meeting logistics, communications, and information technology including using Zoom, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, SurveyMonkey, Box file transfers, and a variety of other platforms.

·     Support development of written materials and public resources, including proofreading, editing, graphic design, and other assistance as relevant.

·     Assist with meeting preparation and onsite coordination of in person meetings.

·     Develop expertise around Homebase’s work in responding to homelessness and coordinate internal organization of key resources for effective knowledge-sharing across staff.

·     Support project and team leads with management of proposals, contracts, and budgets.

·     Assist with a dynamic array of projects with our collaborative team of homelessness and supportive housing experts.

·     As a member of the administrative team, provide backup support for other team members.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must possess:

·     Ability to succeed in a warm and supportive team-based environment committed to organizational values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and embracing anti-racism.

·     Excellent written and oral communication skills.

·     Ability to work effectively with internal teams and outside stakeholders on a variety of detail-oriented tasks and objectives in a sometimes fast-paced environment.

·     Highly efficient organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple competing deadlines, shifting priorities, and various projects across several teams, with extensive attention to detail and accuracy, and good problem solving.

·     Strong computer and technology skills, including experience with the MS package (Excel, Power Point, Word) and ability to learn new apps and software.

·     Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively independently and on a team, and flexibility and willingness to learn a complex niche sector.

·     BA/BS degree or at least 3+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated increased responsibility.

Homebase prefers candidates with:

·     Demonstrated commitment to the public interest and passion for addressing homelessness and poverty.

·     Experience with editing/proofreading, graphic design, and/or data cleanup are not required but would be a plus.

·     Special consideration will be given to applicants with lived experience of housing instability, homelessness, or criminal justice involvement, including arrest and conviction records.

To develop transformative solutions to homelessness, Homebase believes in centering the individuals and communities most impacted by its structural causes — including people of color, people with lived experience of poverty, people with disabilities, and those who identify as LGBTQ+ and GNC. We strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other historically marginalized communities.

We encourage you to apply, even if you are not sure you meet all of these qualifications. You may have knowledge and experiences not specifically listed here that would support our mission, and we would love to see your application!
