POSITION

The Pahara Institute is looking for a values-driven leader who appreciates both the big picture and the details. The Director of Data and Systems will lead the design and implementation of our CRM and data systems for the organization’s new and emerging vision. They will define our data strategy, build operational processes, and design systems that are elegant and intuitive, promote racial equity, and enable us to meet our goals in a values-aligned manner. Salesforce is our chosen CRM and we are looking for a leader excited to take our design and use of Salesforce to the next level. 

The Director of Data and Systems is expected to support Pahara in the achievement of the following goals:

Vision for and implementation of Salesforce roadmap and other systems: 

  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to determine what we will monitor and measure with regards to our organization and programs;
  • Design the operational flows needed to capture this data and translate them into Salesforce specs or non-Salesforce systems;
  • Define and oversee our Salesforce Roadmap;
  • Identify and implement additional integrations that would add efficiency and effectiveness to our operations;
  • Lead a cross-functional team of team liaisons to understand our organization’s Salesforce needs, align on new Salesforce specs, and problem-solve; and
  • Serve as the primary Salesforce point of contact to help departments create reports, dashboards, custom fields, and provide other Salesforce assistance as requested.

Design, monitor, and champion Pahara's data strategy:

  • Equip the team with qualitative and quantitative data to answer key design questions, shape our programs, and inform our organization-wide strategy;
  • Design and implement data tools that enable the team to monitor the quality of our strategic priorities and uphold our commitment to equity;
  • Develop a strategic and proactive approach to collecting, organizing, and maintaining data across programs and organizational functions;
  • Ensure data is captured efficiently and effectively for all Pahara teams and troubleshoot any issues that arise with Salesforce or connected systems;
  • Proactively address issues related to data security, privacy, confidentiality, and cleanliness;
  • Lead data auditing and cleanliness efforts across the organization, including designing and implementing protocols for regular data auditing and clean-up;
  • Design and lead training that allows every team to successfully embed Salesforce and all other data systems and tools into their workflow; and
  • Partner across departments to continuously improve existing approaches, and develop new approaches for defining our data tools and systems.

Compelling candidates will have:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of professional work experience;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience managing the workflow and tasks of other team members;
  • Experience leading the design and adoption of Salesforce for an organization;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and identification of insights;
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; 
  • Proven ability to work independently and virtually in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; 
  • Ability to handle confidential information, and a understanding of the issues around candidate confidentiality; 
  • An enthusiastic, yet pragmatic, approach to using data and technology to improve team performance; 
  • A proven track record of interacting at multiple levels within an organization, both internally and externally, on projects with multiple participants; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications, and the ability to type at least 60WPM.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Director of Data and Systems will report to the Senior Vice President in the Network Effect and Operations Department and will be responsible for leading data systems and Salesforce for the entire organization. 


LOCATION 

We are a virtual organization by design so that our professionals can work where they have built their lives. Our campus in the Denver area will serve as a hub for our work and as the main location for all in-person events. Candidates who live outside the Denver area will have an increase in required overnight travel to the campus (once it is safe to travel).

Pahara provides competitive compensation and an attractive benefits package, including full health care coverage and access to 401(k) account with matching contribution policy. Expected starting salary range for this position is $90,000-$130,000.
